Dr Saugh co-led a national-level research study assessing perceptions toward aquatic animal welfare among tertiary students in Vietnam, published in Animals (MDPI).
"Assessing Perceptions Toward Aquatic Animal Welfare: A Study on the Perspectives of Educators, Students and Aquaculture Industry Stakeholders in South and South-Central Vietnam", identified a critical gap between student awareness and applied welfare competence.
This has implications for aquaculture education, industry capacity, and welfare implementation locally, but also globally. This work highlights the need to strengthen aquatic animal welfare through education reform, training, and institutional capacity building.
